Outbound Ships Passenger Lists
Ships sailing from Canada and USA to England, Europe, North America & Other Ports
Neither U.S. A. nor Canada maintained outbound ships passenger lists.
Ships Passenger Lists to United Kingdom
All ships carrying passengers in or out of any British port
were required by law to deposit an official passenger list
with the relevant port authorities
The records for all these ship passengers travelling
between 1890 and 1960 survives within the collection of
original British Board of Trade passenger lists. The only
place they can be seen is at the Public Record Office in
Kew, England.
There
are British inbound lists, but they are not indexed, nor
microfilmed. The original inbound lists reside at Kew.
These lists are not filmed, not indexed and they are not
available on-line.

Ships Passenger Lists Canada to USA
There are no archived Ships Passenger Lists for ships sailing from ports in Canada to USA. However, some partial lists do exist. These can be found in the Almshouse Records of New York City from 1819-1855.
These records indicate for each person admitted to the Almshouse the name of the ship they sailed on, the port of departure and a year of admission. Sometimes an exact date of arrival is noted. The Almshouse records from 1819-1855 include Age, Place of Birth, Ship Name, Where From,
Captain's Name and Owner's Name. For individuals recorded in Almshouse Records 1855-1858 the information includes ship name, date of sailing, and ports of departure and arrival.
For example, the Almshouse Records indicate that the Riley family from Ireland (Patrick age 30, Ann age 28 and children Martha age 2 all born Ireland plus 2 week old Ann born in New York) sailed on the Felix (or Phoenix) from St. Johns Canada to New York sometime before 23 October 1819.
At this time you must browse the Almshouse Records to find all the names of passengers on ships sailing from Canada to New York, but a Ships Sailing From Canada to New York Project is underway to organize passenger names by ship name and port of departure.
