Orphan & Orphanage RecordsLoyal True Blue Orphanage near Picton, in Hallowell Township Prince Edward County Ontario 1901In 1889 Mrs Joseph Hilton, a member of Lady Verner True Blue Lodge in Toronto, became concerned that facilities for Protestant orphans were lacking. Through her efforts the appointment of an orphanage board was made in 1890. True Blue and Orange Lodge members in Ontario gave their support, and d on August 23, 1899, property was obtained and The Loyal True Blue Orphanage declared open at Picton, Ontario.
