Description Annual return of lunatics in the Richmond Union, giving names, ages, parish to which chargeable, where maintained, weekly cost of maintenance, whether lunatic or idiot, dangerous to himself or others, of dirty habits, and how long they have been of unsound mind. Includes:

- John Procter aged 42 years, chargeable to Richmond, and maintained in the Asylum at York since October 1825. His weekly cost of maintenance is 8s 6d; he is a lunatic, dangerous to himself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for many years

- Francis Cooper aged 44 years, chargeable to Richmond, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 2 December 1841. His weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; he is a lunatic, dangerous to himself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for three years,

- Jane Barningham aged 58 years, chargeable to Richmond, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 25 August 1841. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, not dangerous to herself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for three years

- Mary Allison aged 32 years, chargeable to Melsonby, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 12 January 1840. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, dangerous to herself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for four years

- Martha Terry aged 30 years, chargeable to Hipswell, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 14 August 1840. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, dangerous to herself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for four years

- Michael Todd aged 35 years, chargeable to Gilling, and maintained in the Asylum at York since 24 September 1838. His weekly cost of maintenance is 8s 6d; he is a lunatic, not dangerous to himself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for six years

- Elizabeth McAllen aged 37 years, chargeable to Catterick, and maintained in the Asylum at Helmsley since 17 January 1838. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 7s; she is a lunatic, dangerous to herself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for six years

- Elizabeth Temple aged 39 years, chargeable to Aldbrough, and maintained in the Asylum at Helmsley since 23 July 1838. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 7s; she is a lunatic, dangerous to herself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for six years

- Robert Plews aged 37 years, chargeable to North Cowton, and maintained in the Asylum at Helmsley since 27 July 1838. His weekly cost of maintenance is 7s; he is a lunatic, dangerous to himself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for six years

- Catherine Goulding aged 25 years, chargeable to Middleton Tyas, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 3 July 1844. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, not dangerous to herself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for half a year

- Mary Ann McEntire aged 29 years, chargeable to Richmond, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 3 July 1844. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, not dangerous to herself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for half a year

- Ann Sanderson aged 33 years, chargeable to Richmond, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb since 23 February 1840. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, not dangerous to herself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for three or four years

- Kitty Holder aged 36 years, chargeable to Richmond, and maintained in the Asylum at Acomb. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 8s; she is a lunatic, not dangerous to herself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind for many years

- Elias Stubs aged 34 years, chargeable to Dalton, and maintained in the Union workhouse since 14 May 1842. His weekly cost of maintenance is 2s 71/2d; he is an idiot, not dangerous to himself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind all his life

- Alice Moses aged 27 years, chargeable to Gayles, and maintained in the Union workhouse since 4 March 1840. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 2s 71/2d; she is an idiot, not dangerous to herself or others, not of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind all her life

- John Gregory aged 24 years, chargeable to Caldwell, and maintained in the Union workhouse since 22 May 1842. His weekly cost of maintenance is 2s 71/2d; he is an idiot, not dangerous to himself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind all his life

- Thomas Peveral aged 38 years, chargeable to Bolton on Swale, and living at Bolton. His weekly cost of maintenance is 3s; he is an idiot, not dangerous to himself or others, of dirty habits, and has been of unsound mind all his life

- Robert Thompson aged 44 years, chargeable to Middleton Tyas, and maintained in the Union workhouse. His weekly cost of maintenance is 2s 71/2d; he is an idiot, not dangerous to himself or others
